Infectious Diseases

Dr. Hull has worked in infectious disease control for more than 45 years and has published extensively in the field. He has specific expertise in food-borne illness and food poisoning - including Salmonella, Campylobacter, Norovirus, E. coli & Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome, Listeria and Yersinia. He also has expertise in Legionnaire’s Disease, Hepatitis, MRSA, Streptococci, Meningitis, Tuberculosis, Herpes, Rabies, Lyme Disease, Anthrax, Bubonic Plague, COVID-19 and other infectious diseases.

Dr. Hull has worked extensively with vaccine-preventable diseases, including Polio, Smallpox, Influenza, Measles, Rubella, Human Papilloma Virus, Rotavirus, RSV and Pneumococcal Disease. Dr. Hull is a former member of CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices.

Dr. Hull has served as a consultant to major food and restaurant companies on food safety issues. He has also served as a medical consultant to vaccine companies.

Epidemiology

Dr. Hull was trained in epidemiology as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He as served as the State Epidemiologist for New Mexico and Minnesota, where his responsibilities included investigating and controlling numerous infectious diseases outbreaks in those states. He worked on the WHO Smallpox Eradication Program in Bangladesh and spent 10 years leading the Global Polio Eradication Initiative at the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland. He also served as a WHO Consultant on Pandemic Influenza in 2009.
